The Pittsburgh region continues to experience positive economic growth driven by Oakland’s anchor economic engines. Oakland is not only home to Western Pennsylvania’s largest employer hospitals and universities, but it is also a community experiencing an explosion in the technology, arts and culture scene. To stay ahead of this growth curve and to keep up with the emerging 21st century Oakland community, the OBID is undertaking an Oakland Retail Market Study.
This study will be a much needed tool to help OBID and our member property owners to better understand the competitive retail framework and to help identify future tenant recruitment opportunities for our trade area. OBID has brought on the professional services of GAI Consultants, experts in the field providing real estate and economic advisory services in its third decade of business operations. Financial support for the project has been provided by Oakland Real Estate Property Management Company, Ron Levick Property Owner, the University of Pittsburgh and by OBID.
