Oakland Forever is a community project of the Oakland Task Force that creates opportunities for all who live, work, study and play in Oakland to participate and invest in the enhancement of the Oakland experience. 2014 marks the 175th anniversary of the year when our community was first identified uniquely as “Oakland”!

The overarching goal of the event is to enhance the Oakland experience so that we might build community pride and spirit, and attract future residents, businesses, and investments by showcasing its past, present and future. Oakland Forever 2014 is planned to be a two day celebration of Oakland, its residents and community members, and its amazing accomplishments over the past 175 years.

The event is scheduled for the evening of Friday October 10 and all day Saturday October 11, 2014, and will feature special activities centered around Schenley Plaza and local business districts featuring food, music, activities and access to cultural amenities.
