As part of the Startup Oakland campaign to attract tech startups to the Revv Oakland co-working spaces of our business district, OBID will be installing these technology-themed banners throughout the business district. To complement these new banners, soon you will also see window clings throughout the Revv Oakland spaces to highlight available tech incubator spaces. This project is funded by the Pittsburgh Partnership for Neighborhood Development.
The OBID received a $50,000 grant from The Heinz Endowments to be used for a professional curator, content management services, and for the work of local and international artists to be displayed at the digital gallery soon to be installed on the corner of Forbes Avenue and South Bouquet Street.
The digital gallery will be managed by world renowned curator, Murray Horne, who is also the curator of the Wood Street Gallery in Downtown Pittsburgh’s Cultural District. The OBID’s outdoor digital art gallery will be the first of its kind in the US and will feature local, national and international artists.
The Heinz Endowments supports efforts to make southwestern Pennsylvania a premier place to live and work, a center for learning and educational excellence, and a region that embraces diversity and inclusion.
New Tech Branding
As the OBID continues to promote Oakland as the heart of Pittsburgh’s culture of technology, youth and vibrancy, we are also keeping our branding aligned with that aesthetic. Keep an eye out for our new logo and branding, which will be unveiled throughout the summer as we switch over to this fresh and new look created by Imagebox Studios as part of the OBID’s efforts to build Oakland’s Innovation Economy and attract Technology Startups to our business district. You will also notice that our emails and website are fresh and updated!
Special thanks to the Pittsburgh Partnership for Neighborhood Development for funding the catalytic project!
