OBID is dedicated to improving the cleanliness,
appearance, and perception of safety
in Oakland, bringing about revitalization,
preserving Oakland’s unique commercial
environment, and undertaking marketing
and development initiatives to make Oakland
a vibrant destination for visitors, residents,
owners, employees and students.

The OBID is managed by a Board of Directors made up of 30 individuals representing the various stakeholders of Oakland. The OBID By-Laws ensure that all stakeholders of the OBID are equally represented on the Board, including owners of both large and small commercial properties, tenants (business owners), the educational and medical institutions, City of Pittsburgh government and neighborhood organizations. Board of Directors are elected annually by the OBID membership at large. Each Board member serves a three year term, with Board officers serving one year terms, except for the Board Chair who serves a two year term. The OBID Board of Directors is served by various committees including: Executive, Finance and Nominating Committees, as well as, Marketing, Farmers’ Market, Outreach, Business Recruitment and Public Art Committees. 2010 Board of Directors
